Forgotten Groove Yard:

The idea behind the "Forgotten Groove Yard", was to record some lesser known classic grooves. As a Bass player, I approach everything from a rhythm section perspective. My priorities are Time, Feel, Sound and Consistency. This is what I am trying to showcase in these videos. I thought that playing some old grooves with a little modern approach and technique, would showcase these aspects of playing the instrument. There will also be special guests along the way! I am very fortunate to have a great pool of players to use at Berklee College. I hope these videos will inspire players to see the beauty in being a supportive rhythm section player. There will be very little soloing by me in these videos, but I do intend on having many of my "guests" improvising with me along the way. I plan on having fun with this and I hope you all enjoy it as well.

I'm going to post PDF's of the grooves in groups of five. So after I get five videos up, I will post the transcriptions of the grooves. The grooves will be a free download. There is a significant amout of time and effort that goes into recording and writing these lines, so be patient. I'll get them up for download. There is NO TAB. I want to thank you for checking out my page and materials. Your support makes it all possible.

Please take a moment to check out all the players websites. It will be well worth your while to discover all these great players you see in the videos.
